On March 9th 2016, the Signing Ceremony of Quality Accreditation on the Education of International Students was held at CEAIE. Secretary-General of CEAIE, Mr. Sheng Jianxue and representatives from 28 universities signed the agreements, representing the official launch of the first group of Quality Accreditation pilot work. Deputy Director-General of Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of MOE, Mr. Fang Jun attended the ceremony and delivered keynote speech. Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, Mrs. Zhou Yan and Vice-President Zhao Zhongxiu from the University of International Business and Economics addressed the audience on behalf of CEAIE and the universities. Mrs. Shen Xuesong, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, Mrs. Mao Dongmin Deputy Director of Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of MOE and more than 70 university representatives witnessed the signing ceremony.

For further implementing the "Study-in-China Plan", in order to establish and improve the educational quality assurance system for the programs for international students, and to strengthen the management of international student education, CEAIE was entrusted by the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of MOE at the end of 2014 to build up the national quality assurance standards, methods and procedures. After a series of researches and through discussions, 28 universities were selected from many voluntary institutions as the first pilot group to conduct the quality accreditation work.
Mr. Fang Jun pointed out at the meeting that one of the most important tasks of international cooperation and exchange in the new era was to speedy up the construction of educational quality assurance system for study-in-China programs to further enhancing their global attractiveness and influence. The nation will gradually build up and improve the quality assurance framework by using national standards to strengthen guidance, supervision and accountability.
