Theme: Future-oriented Japanese Language Education in China
Time: October 19, 2017 (Thursday) 13:30 - 17:30
Venue: Room 201CD
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. The bilateral exchange and cooperation between China and Japan is progressively increasing and China’s number of people who study the Japanese language ranks first in the world. Recently this number has reached more than 950 thousand, over 600 thousand of which are university students. Nevertheless, the Japanese language education in China is still facing many challenges in a world of growing multi-polarity, economic globalization, cultural diversity and society informationalization, especially when China started the Construction of Double First-rate Initiative among its universities. Under this background and on the occasion of the 18th China Annual Conference for International Education and Expo, a China-Japan forum will be jointly held by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF). CEAIE and SPF will invite top experts and scholars both from China and Japan to exchange views on and explore the following topics, the present situation and Future development of Japanese language education studies in China, the strategic role of Japanese language education in China’s education development, international exchange and cooperation in Japanese language education, etc. We believe that the the findings and achievements we expect to make at this forum will further advance the development of Japanese language education and international understanding education in China.
