【Basic Education】2017 National Forum on Education for International Understanding

Theme: Intercultural Competence vs. Myself

Time: October 19, 2017 (Thursday) 13:30 - 17:00

Venue: Convention Hall No.5A

Intercultural competence is becoming increasingly significant in today’s world where it is more globalized and interconnected than ever before. The forum will be looking at one’s intercultural competence from a 4-dimension perspective – attitude, awareness, knowledge, and behavior through a variety of interactive activities. It also gives people an opportunity to (re)explore who they are in the context where the concept “myself” is referring to not only “who I am” but also “where I am culturally from”, following the philosophy that “self-discovery comes before the discovery of others”. Overall the forum aims atgenerating a more in-depth understanding of intercultural competence and provoking thoughts of different ways to enrich the intercultural competence for youth as well as help people solve various problems in real-life situations.
